MP Sees Off Sant Niranjan Das and Devotees to Varanasi
Highlights Upcoming State-Level Celebrations of Guru Ravidas Ji’s Birth Anniversary

A massive gathering of devotees thronged Jalandhar City Railway Station today as Sant Niranjan Das, head of Dera Sachkhand Ballan, departed for Govardhan Temple in Varanasi through a special train, along with millions of devotees from across Punjab.
The train was formally flagged off by Member of Parliament Hoshiarpur, Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal along with Harpal Singh Cheema, MLA Dirba, and Lal Chand Kataruchak, MLA Bhoa and Dr. Ishank Kumar MLA Chabbewal, who joined the MP in extending their best wishes to Sant Niranjan Das and the devotees for a safe and spiritually fulfilling journey. The leaders appreciated the efforts of the dera in promoting spiritual values, social harmony, and community service, and lauded the enthusiasm and devotion of the followers.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Raj highlighted the state level celebration of 649th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas and upcoming one-year celebrations of the 650th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas Ji, which will be commenced by the Punjab Government on 6th February at Khuralgarh Sahib.
The MP also highlighted that a bridge worth ₹4 crore at Khuralgarh has already been dedicated to devotees, and during the state-level programme, the iconic Meenar-e-Beghampura will be formally dedicated to the Sangat. He emphasized that these initiatives will further strengthen faith, devotion, and community bonding among followers, while also promoting Punjab’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.
The event at the railway station witnessed a grand show of devotion, with devotees offering prayers and showering flowers as the train departed for Varanasi. Dr. Raj also expressed gratitude to the railway authorities and local administration for ensuring smooth and safe travel arrangements for the large number of pilgrims.
