Tipper Runs Over Young Woman's Legs in Hoshiarpur, Both Severed

A horrific accident at Mahilpur's main chowk on the Hoshiarpur-Chandigarh highway left a 26-year-old woman with both legs crushed after a tipper truck ran over them.According to eyewitnesses, Lakhwinder Kaur, daughter of Jasvir Singh and a resident of Mahimdowal Kalan in Garshankar tehsil, Hoshiarpur district, was riding her Activa scooter (PB 07 AK 1330) when a barley-laden tipper (PB 07 AS 9960) from Gurdaspur approached from Hoshiarpur and its rear tyres crushed both her legs.Onlookers rushed her to Mahilpur Civil Hospital on her scooter for aid. Surgical doctor Baljinder Kumar provided first aid but referred her to PGI Chandigarh due to her critical condition.Mahilpur police station has seized the overloaded truck and detained the driver, with further action underway.
