Commemoration Day Observed in Hoshiarpur to Pay Glowing Tributes to Martyrs

Hoshiarpur/Oct21/Daljeet Ajnoha – The 66th Police Commemoration Day was observed with solemnity and deep respect at the Police Lines, Hoshiarpur, to honor the valiant police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hoshiarpur, Sandeep Kumar Malik, led the commemoration ceremony and paid floral tributes at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial. He described the Punjab Police as an outstanding and dedicated force that has served the country with remarkable commitment in both times of peace and crisis.Speaking on the occasion, SSP Malik said that since September 1981, 1,802 officers of the Punjab Police have laid down their lives while performing their duty, including three brave personnel this year alone. “It is because of these martyrs that we are able to sleep in peace today,” he remarked.He lauded the Punjab Police for its glorious legacy of bravery, resilience, and steadfast determination to uproot terrorism, adding that its contribution in preserving peace, law and order, and communal harmony across the state remains unparalleled.A ceremonial parade was held to commemorate the occasion, during which the names of the fallen heroes were read out. Wreaths were laid, floral tributes were offered, and family members of the martyrs were felicitated in recognition of their sacrifice.After the ceremony, SSP Malik met the families of the martyrs, patiently listened to their concerns, and assured them of continued assistance from the Punjab Government and the Police Department.Among those present on the occasion were Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Nikas Kumar and senior police officials of the district, who paid homage to the departed souls and reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the legacy of courage and service exemplified by the martyrs.
