South African Global Peace Award for 127 years old living Yogi By Partha Roy
Sivananda World Peace Foundation,South Africa awarded Sivananda World Peace award to 127 years oldest living person and yogi Padmashree Sivananda swami on 6th November 2022 at a function organised at Press Club in Kolkata.
The award was conferred by Prince Ishwar Ramlutchman Mabheka Zulu, President of Sivananda World Peace Foundation South Africa.
Sivananda Peace award is conferred on those who have dedicated their life towards the service of humanity and promote love , compassion and honesty transcending national boundaries .
The award ceremony was attended by monks of Ramakrishna Mission , journalists, industrialists and other celebrities.
It needs to be mentioned that Sivananda World Peace Foundation and Sivananda Peace award was launched in memory of great spiritual master & Yoga guru Sivananda Saraswati a Hindu spiritual teacher and a proponent of Vedanta who died in 1963 at the age of 75 years. Sivananda Saraswati Swami founded The Divine Life Society , Rishikesh , Bihar School of Yoga.
Earlier , Nelson Mandella, Ex-President of South Africa, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Sri Sri Ravishankar are few of the most notable recipients of this award.
