Vigilance Bureau Conducts Seminar on Theme “Vigilance Against Corruption – Our Collective Responsibility

The Vigilance Bureau Unit, Hoshiarpur, organized an awareness seminar today at B.Ed D.A.V. College, near Shimla Pahari, Hoshiarpur, under the theme “Vigilance Against Corruption – Our Collective Responsibility.” The event was chaired by Vigilance Bureau Unit Deputy Captain of Police, Mandeep Singh, while Regional Transport Officer Amandeep Kaur Ghumman attended as the chief guest.Addressing officers from various departments, employees, college staff, and students, chief guest Amandeep Kaur Ghumman emphasized that every individual must perform their duties with honesty and dedication to help eradicate the evil of corruption from society.Deputy Captain of Police Mandeep Singh administered an anti-corruption pledge to all attendees. Inspector Sakshi Sharma, during her address, explained the functioning of the Vigilance Bureau. She informed that if any government officer or employee demands a bribe in exchange for official work, the matter can be reported to the Vigilance Bureau. She added that complainants can also seek the bureau’s assistance in catching the accused red-handed.She further mentioned that anyone can register a corruption-related complaint through the toll-free number 1800-1800-1000, the Anti-Corruption Action Line 95012-00200, or the website www.vigilancebureau.punjab.gov.in.The seminar was attended by College Principal Vidhi Bhalla, Tehsildar Bhim Sen, officials from the Vigilance Bureau, and a large number of students. On this occasion, pamphlets containing anti-corruption information, contact numbers, and complaint procedures were distributed.Concluding the event, Deputy Captain Mandeep Singh extended his gratitude to the college management, staff, and students, urging everyone to unite and contribute to building a corruption-free society in the national interest.
