In a move aimed at enhancing public infrastructure and promoting urban beautification, MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa inaugurated the installation of heritage-style lights across Hoshiarpur’s prominent markets, beginning from the iconic Ghanta Ghar Chowk.Jimpa announced that nearly 150 heritage lights are being installed at a cost of around Rs 39 lakh. The project covers major commercial hubs including Kashmiri Bazaar, Sheesh Mahal Bazaar, Kotwali Bazaar, Sarafa Bazaar, Pratap Chowk, and Bassi Khwajoo Bazaar.He stated that the initiative would not only enhance the nighttime charm of these historic marketplaces but also create a more inviting atmosphere for residents and traders. The installations aim to improve security, cleanliness, and the city’s overall aesthetic appeal, ushering in a positive change in its nightlife and commercial vibrancy.“The glorious history and cultural identity of Hoshiarpur will shine even brighter under these heritage lights,” Jimpa added.The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mayor Surinder Kumar, Senior Deputy Mayor Praveen Saini, Deputy Mayor Ranjit Chaudhary, along with civic dignitaries including Keval Krishan Verma, Gopi Chand Kapoor, Pradeep Bittu, Shakha Bagga, Deepak Marwaha, Rajesh Kumar, Councillor Vijay Aggarwal, Manjeet Singh, and Tinku Narula.
