 District Health Society Reviews Progress of National Health Programs

In accordance with the directions of Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain, a key meeting of the District Health Society was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Nikas Kumar at the Ashok Chakra Meeting Hall in the District Administrative Complex.Civil Surgeon Dr. Balveer Kumar, along with all district program officers, Senior Medical Officers (SMOs), and other officials and staff of the Health Department, attended the meeting. The session included a detailed review of various ongoing national health programs and schemes, followed by the issuance of necessary directives for future implementation.At the outset, Civil Surgeon Dr. Balveer Kumar presented an overview of the health programs being run across the district. ADC Nikas Kumar instructed officials to ensure timely registration of pregnant women with 100% coverage at the block level. He also directed the SMOs to conduct weekly review meetings and emphasized special care for high-risk pregnant women. Strengthening and streamlining delivery services in government hospitals was another key point of discussion.The ADC issued special instructions to SMOs of blocks where the sex ratio remains low, asking them to investigate causes and undertake corrective measures. He also directed that 100% immunization targets be achieved and that all records be regularly updated online.To achieve the goals of family planning programs, officials were urged to make additional efforts. The meeting also reviewed the district’s progress under the National Vector-Borne Disease Control Program, assessing the situation regarding dengue, malaria, and chikungunya cases.Further discussions covered the Tuberculosis Control Program, Leprosy Control Program, Tobacco Control Program, Hepatitis Control Program, and the Ayushman Bharat – Health Insurance Scheme. The ADC instructed the department to ensure that all programs are implemented more effectively and in an organized manner across the district.
