A historic initiative against drugs was launched in village Jangliana, where Member of Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal ignited a wave of awareness. In a massive public gathering, villagers , including youth, women, and elders  showed overwhelming support and pledged to make their village drug-free.

Addressing the gathering, Member of Lok Sabha Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that drugs are stealing the smiles from our villages and destroying the harmony of homes. This is not the time to remain silent —this is the time to fight. “We don’t need tears in our eyes, but the shine of hope,” he said. He assured that all possible help, rehabilitation, and respect will be provided by the government to youth coming out of the trap of addiction. He also informed that a special anti-drug campaign has been launched in the region, where schools, panchayats, social organizations, and administration will work together.

MLA Dr. Ishank sent a strong message, saying that if every youngster firmly decides not to engage in this menace, no force can push them into it. Drugs are an attack on our very roots, and we will eradicate them completely. 'Drug-Free Punjab' is no longer just a campaign — it is a revolution,” he said.

At the end of the event, villagers took an anti-drug pledge.
