"Harialwali Lehar" to be Launched on 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji: DFO Amneet Singh
– 5 Lakh saplings to be planted in Hoshiarpur

Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Hoshiarpur, Amneet Singh, announced that the Punjab Government will launch the "Harialwali Lehar" (Green Wave) campaign in honor of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Under this initiative, 3,50,000 saplings will be planted in each district.
He shared that during the year 2025–26, Hoshiarpur Forest Division will carry out massive plantation drives across the district with the cooperation of various departments and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
DFO Amneet Singh stated that a detailed plantation plan has been prepared under various forestry schemes. These include:
75,829 saplings under the CAMPA scheme
20,000 saplings in Pan-campuses
66,000 saplings under the Green Punjab Mission
96,600 saplings under the MGNREGA scheme
Around 30,000 saplings along link roads under the Agroforestry Scheme
Under the Green Punjab Mission, the Forest Division will also develop:
15 ‘Nanak Bagichis’ (Nanak Gardens) in schools and colleges
8 Nanak Bagichis in industrial areas
5 ‘Sacred Forests’ across the district
As part of the "One Tree in the Name of Mother" campaign, medicinal and nutritional plants will be specially planted in schools.
In total, the Hoshiarpur Forest Division aims to plant approximately 5 lakh saplings during the 2025–26 period under various initiatives to contribute to a greener and healthier environment.
