Hajipur/Hoshiarpur, July 5:
Member of Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal visited Hajipur in Mukerian Assembly constituency today and listened to public grievances, resolving several of them on the spot. After holding a meeting with officials at the rest house in Hajipur, he addressed the media and said that many important local issues were brought to his attention, and their resolution will be prioritized.
Dr. Chabbewal informed that under the "Rangla Punjab" scheme, funds have been allocated to villages for development works. Additionally, funds under the 15th Finance Commission will help resolve several problems in the Hajipur area.
Welcoming the Punjab government’s decision to convene a special session of the Legislative Assembly, Dr. Chabbewal said it is a timely and necessary step. He added that the session will include extensive discussions on anti-drug campaigns and important legislative bills, which will strengthen the state’s efforts toward eradicating drugs.
In village Gera, Dr. Chabbewal inaugurated an interlock-tile street built with a cost of around ₹6 lakh through the MP’s development fund. Local villagers warmly welcomed him and expressed their gratitude for the developmental work.
During an event in village Mansoorpur, the MP announced a ₹10 lakh sewerage project from his MPLADS fund. On this occasion, the current village panchayat joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Dr. Chabbewal welcomed the newly inducted members and assured them that they would receive due respect and recognition.
He further stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the people’s trust in the Aam Aadmi Party has grown significantly due to its policies and performance. The way people are joining the party clearly indicates that AAP will secure an even bigger victory in 2027 than in 2022.
Prominent figures present at the occasion included Mukerian constituency in-charge Prof. G.S. Multani, SDM Kanwaljit Singh, Sulakhan Singh Jaggi, Chatar Singh, and other dignitaries and officials.
