 Complete ban on flying drones in Hoshiarpur district

Hoshiarpur/ May 12/Daljeet Ajnoha District Magistrate Ashika Jain, exercising the powers vested in her under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code, 2023, has issued orders imposing a complete ban on flying drones within the limits of Hoshiarpur district. This order has been passed unilaterally keeping in mind the current situation and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur will be responsible for implementing this order within the limits of the district. This order will not be applicable to law enforcement agencies such as police, paramilitary, air force and other security agencies.

The orders issued state that as per the orders received from the Ministry of Aviation, Government of India, ‘mock drills’ are being conducted under the Civil Defence Act 1968 to deal with any kind of emergency situation in various districts of Punjab. It has been brought to our notice that the attack can also be carried out through drones and the general public flying drones can create an atmosphere of fear among the public, which is likely to lead to deterioration of the law and order situation. This order will remain in force till further orders.
