 Bhoomi Pujan Performed for 1101-Kund Atirudra Mahayagya Near Shri Siddheshwar Shiva Temple

With the divine blessings of Brahmaleen Swami Basantgiri Ji Maharaj, a Bhoomi Pujan ceremony was performed today by Swami Udaygiri Ji Maharaj near Shri Siddheshwar Shiva Temple, Bassi Gulam Hussain, Hoshiarpur. This sacred ceremony marks the commencement of preparations for the 1101-Kund Atirudra Mahayagya, an event of immense spiritual significance.

Gracing the occasion as the chief guest, Swami Vishwanand Ji Maharaj, spiritual head of Shri Kaleshwar Mahadev Tirth Kshetra, highlighted the rarity and spiritual potency of the Atirudra Mahayagya. “Such Yagyas are extremely rare in the world and participating in them bestows immense spiritual merit,” he said. He further elaborated that in Vedic tradition, deities receive offerings through the sacred fire and, pleased with the devotion, bless the participants. He emphasized the timeless significance of Yagyas, which have been practiced since ancient times for spiritual purification and universal harmony.

MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa addressed the gathering, stating, “In the current global context, Yagyas performed with the resolve of enlightened saints like Swami Udaygiri Ji Maharaj will play a key role in promoting world peace and welfare. It is our collective duty to support such efforts with body, mind, and resources.”

Former Member of Parliament Avinash Rai Khanna noted the significance of the day, “On this sacred occasion of Buddha Purnima, with the flag hoisting and Bhoomi Pujan, we have officially begun preparations for the grand Atirudra Mahayagya, scheduled for February 19, 2026. This event will also serve as a platform for public awareness and spiritual upliftment.” He affirmed that Yagyas serve as a spiritual lifeline, purifying the body, mind, and environment.

Prominent community members including Harvinder Singh Pathania (Chairman, Baba Balak Nath Trust), Narveer Singh Nandi (Former Sarpanch), Anurag Sood (Secretary, Shri Siddheshwar Shiva Temple Trust), Naresh Bains (Former DGM, Mandi Board), and Principal Aarti Sood Mehta urged the devotees to extend wholehearted support—physical, financial, and spiritual—to make this unprecedented Mahayagya a grand success.

This 1101-Kund Atirudra Mahayagya is expected to be the first of its kind in the history of Hoshiarpur, marking a momentous spiritual milestone for the region.
