 A Unique Initiative by Punjab Government to Save Youth from Drugs and Promote Sports: Friendly Football Match Between MP and MLA Teams at Kaharpur

In a commendable effort to steer the young generation away from drugs and toward sports, a friendly football match was organized in village Kaharpur between teams led by Member of Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar and MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar.

The match took place during the ongoing 7-a-side football tournament being organized by Sant Baba Hari Singh Sporting Club, Kaharpur, under the leadership of club president Harmanjot Singh Khabra and Harnandan Singh Khabra. The match was inaugurated and blessed by Sant Sadhu Singh Kaharpuri.

The MP and MLA teams showcased an excellent display of sportsmanship, ending the match in a 1-1 draw. Both Dr. Raj Kumar and Dr. Ishank Kumar played in the match themselves, winning the hearts of the spectators with their spirit and energy.

On this occasion, Dr. Raj Kumar emphasized the importance of involving youth in sports to protect them from drug addiction. “Connecting youth with sports is crucial in our fight against drugs,” he said.

MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar highlighted the multifaceted benefits of sports, stating, “Sports not only keep the body fit and healthy but also strengthen mutual love and harmony among people.”

In the tournament final, the team from village Mugowal defeated Sarabha (Ludhiana) by 1-0 to lift the trophy.
