For the 1101 Kundiya Rudra Mahayagya to be held from 19 February to 25 February 2026 at Shri Siddheshwar Shiv Temple, Bassi Gulam Hussain, Hoshiarpur, saints, ascetics, and members of the saintly community today appealed to society to participate in and support this rare yajna. All of them visited the grand and massive structure being constructed with bamboo for the yajna.

On this occasion, the yajna’s convener and the spiritual head of Shri Siddheshwar Shiv Temple, Swami Udaygiri Ji Maharaj, who is associated with the Juna Akhara, said that yajna is the foundation of Sanatan Dharma. Since the Vedic era, our sages understood the importance of yajna and declared it essential for public welfare.

On this occasion, Swami Vishwanand Ji Saraswati, the spiritual head of Shri Kalinath Kaleshwar Mahadev Teerthkshetra, Himachal Pradesh, explained that in the philosophy of Purva Mimamsa it is clearly described that deities accept offerings (havi/ahuti) only through fire, that is, through havan. He said that protection of devotees from the looming clouds of war in the world and from natural calamities, as well as purification of the environment, is possible through such yajnas. He added that his grandfather-guru, Brahmalin Swami Bauddhanand Ji Maharaj, had organized a 1101 Kundiya yajna in 1925 at Shri Kalinath Teerthkshetra. The people of Hoshiarpur and the surrounding region are fortunate to receive a divine opportunity, after 101 years, to participate in such a yajna and earn spiritual merit by becoming yajmans.

Swami Ramsharanand Ji Maharaj said that the fire of the yajna and the sound of the mantras spread throughout the universe, radiating positivity in all directions. From Patti, Shri Mahant Pavandas Ji appealed to society to support the yajna with body, mind, and wealth.

Anurag Sood said that at Shri Siddheshwar Temple, Brahmalin Swami Basantgiri Ji Maharaj performed intense penance for 43 years, and before him seven spiritual luminaries undertook penance here for hundreds of years, whose samadhis are present at the site. Dr. Harshvinder Singh Pathania said that those who wish to participate in the yajna or become yajmans can register their names at Shri Siddheshwar Shiv Temple. There is no fee to participate in the yajna; devotees may contribute according to their devotion.

On this occasion, Principal Aarti Sood Mehta, Yashodanandan Gupta, Advocate Lovkesh Ohri, Pankaj Sood, Devender Singh Saini, senior Congress leader Thakur Narveer Singh Nandi, Seth Satpal Gupta, Praveen Saini, Manish Talwar, Mohit Plaha, and Thakur Narendra Singh Rajput also appealed to society to participate in the yajna.
