SGGS Khalsa College Hosts Lecture on “Diaspora Hindi Literature”

– The Postgraduate Department of Hindi at Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, organized a special lecture on the theme “Diaspora Hindi Literature.” The session was graced by eminent London-based writer Tejendra Sharma (MBE), who delivered the keynote address.In his welcome remarks, Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh encouraged students to immerse themselves in literature, art, and culture, highlighting the importance of creative engagement in academic growth.Addressing the gathering, Tejender Sharma discussed the growing global recognition of Hindi language and literature, noting that contemporary diaspora writers reflect both deep attachment to their homeland and a mature engagement with global issues. He also spoke about the role of Hindi cinema in the promotion of the language, tracing the evolution of art and commercial films and their cultural significance.Concluding the event, Head of the Hindi Department Lt. Dr. Deepak delivered a vote of thanks and shared details about the department’s various academic initiatives. The college management honored Tejender Sharma for his remarkable contributions to Hindi literature.The event was attended by Dr. Parminder Kaur, Prof. Nancy, Dr. Vikrant Rana, Dr. Aarti Sharma, Dr. J.B. Sekhon, Prof. Rohit Puri, and a large contingent of students.
