 MLA Delivers on Road Safety Promise

 In a significant move aimed at improving commuter safety, Chabbewal MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar has announced that the state government has granted principal approval for the installation of safety railings along the 18-km canal stretch from Kot Fatuhi to Mehtiana. 

Raising the issue in the Assembly as a matter of public safety, Dr. Ishank had highlighted the risks faced by daily commuters using the canal-side road. Responding to this concern, the government has agreed to undertake the project in phases. According to Dr. Kumar, the first phase will cover 5 km of road from Kot Fatuhi to Panjaura, with an estimated cost of ₹1.5 crore. Funds for this stretch have already been sanctioned.

 Marking the formal beginning of the project, MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar inaugurated the work on-site by cutting the ribbon, signaling the commencement of work. Emphasizing his commitment to the welfare of the people, Dr. Ishank Kumar stated, “Your safety, and every concern you raise, is my concern—my priority.” 

The project is expected to significantly enhance road safety and reduce the risk of accidents along the busy canal route.
