Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain Inspects Ongoing Road Construction Works in Hoshiarpur

– Issues strict directions to ensure quality and transparency

– Monitoring committees tasked with regular review and reporting

Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain on Sunday conducted an extensive inspection of ongoing road construction and repair works across the district under the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. She was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Nikas Kumar and officials from the concerned departments.

During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of road projects being executed by the Municipal Corporation in the Bahadurpur area. She examined the quality of construction materials, drainage systems, and road alignment in detail. Later, she also visited several sites in the Dasuya region and issued on-the-spot directions to ensure adherence to quality and timelines.

Emphasizing the Punjab Government’s commitment to providing safe and durable road connectivity to the public, Jain said that coordinated efforts are underway by the PWD, Punjab Mandi Board, and Municipal Corporation to accelerate road development projects across the district. She made it clear that no laxity would be tolerated in ensuring the quality, strength, and timely completion of the works.

Roads are the backbone of development, and any compromise in their quality directly affects the district’s progress, she asserted, directing all departments to strictly adhere to government norms and departmental guidelines while executing projects.

The Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain further informed that monitoring committees have been constituted at the sub-divisional level to ensure transparency and accountability. In rural areas, these committees will be headed by the respective SDMs, while in urban areas, the responsibility will rest with the Municipal Commissioner and Executive Officers of the municipal councils. These committees have been instructed to submit regular progress reports to the DC office for continuous review and oversight.
