Rayat Bahra Professional University Hosts International Conference ‘HOPS-2025’
- Deliberations held on Pharmaceutical Sciences and Emerging Technologies

The University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Rayat Bahra Professional University, organized the International Conference ‘HOPS-2025’ in collaboration with the Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association (IPGA), Punjab State Branch.
The conference commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Maninder Pal Singh, Director-Principal and Convener of the event. The Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Rajiv Sood, Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, graced the occasion, while Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor, and Dr. Chander Mohan, Vice-Chancellor of Rayat Bahra Professional University, were special guests.
In his address, Gurvinder Singh Bahra emphasized the importance of research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. He highlighted the university’s continuous efforts toward global excellence in pharmaceutical education and strengthening health systems.
Dr. Chander Mohan appreciated the organizing team and encouraged young researchers to explore new ideas and technologies that can improve health outcomes. He described such international platforms as vital for innovation-driven education and scientific exchange.
The event was further enriched by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Kumar (President, IPGA Punjab State Branch) and Prof. (Dr.) Baljeet Singh Khurana (General Secretary, IPGA Punjab State Branch), along with the entire IPGA Punjab State team.
The plenary sessions featured eminent speakers from India and abroad, including Prof. (Dr.) Zeliha Selamoglu (Nigde Omer Halisdemir University, Turkey), Dr. Alan Tan Sang Loon (Sunway Biofunctional Molecules Discovery Centre, Malaysia), Dr. Rajendra Khanal (Merck KGaA, Germany), Dr. Rajeev Kumar Singla (West China Hospital, Sichuan University, China), Dr. Harish Chander (National Institute of Biologicals, NOIDA), Prof. (Dr.) Amit Bhatia (MRSPTU, Bathinda), Prof. (Dr.) Richa Shri (Punjabi University, Patiala), and Prof. (Dr.) Anju Goyal (Rayat Bahra University, Mohali).
More than 800 participants from India and abroad registered for the conference, and out of 295 abstracts, 220 were selected for presentation based on originality, innovation, and relevance to the theme. A special issue of the Journal of Applied Pharmaceutical Science (JAPS), a Scopus-indexed (Q2) journal, was announced for publication of selected research papers.
A vibrant cultural program featuring dance, singing, gidha, and bhangra by students added color to the event. The conference concluded with the award distribution for the best paper and poster presentations.
The event also witnessed the presence of Dr. Pradeep Mattu, former Joint Commissioner, FDA Punjab and CMD, Codrite Technologies, and Sameer Kant Ahuja, Liaisoning & Coordination Officer, Baba Farid University.
