Deepotsav 2025: Evening of Devotion and Harmony at Hoshiarpur Old Age Home

Marking the spirit of Diwali, the Hoshiarpur district administration hosted a grand Bhajan Sandhya at the Old Age Home in Ram Colony Camp. The event, organised in collaboration with the Red Cross Society and the Sanskaari Student Welfare Society, brought together devotion, compassion, and community spirit under one roof.Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain presided over the function as the chief guest, celebrating the festival of lights with the elderly residents in an atmosphere imbued with warmth and reverence. The evening commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, setting the tone for devotional performances that followed — including Ganesh Vandana, Ram Bhajans, and a special Lakshmi Aarti in which all participants joined with deep faith.A vibrant rangoli competition added colour and creativity to the celebration, symbolising the joy and togetherness of the occasion. Social worker Satish Silhi Uppal’s contribution was also acknowledged for her pivotal role in coordinating the event.Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Jain noted that such initiatives nurture bonds of love, empathy, and spiritual strength within society. Extending heartfelt Diwali greetings to the elderly residents, she reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to their welfare and inclusion.The Bhajan Sandhya concluded with an hour of soulful music that filled the venue with peace and spiritual bliss.
