 Dr. Seema Garg Assumes Charge as Acting Civil Surgeon of Hoshiarpur

As per the orders of the Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Mr. Kumar Rahul, IAS, District Immunization Officer Dr. Seema Garg has assumed charge as the Acting Civil Surgeon of Hoshiarpur with effect from September 1, 2025. It may be recalled that Civil Surgeon Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra retired from government service on August 31, 2025.

During her tenure, Dr. Seema Garg has played a vital role in successfully promoting immunization campaigns and creating public awareness about health. Particularly under her leadership, Hoshiarpur district remained one of the leading districts in the state in Polio, Measles-Rubella, and Covid-19 vaccination drives.

On assuming charge, Dr. Seema Garg expressed her gratitude to the Health and Family Welfare Department for entrusting her with this important responsibility. She said her constant effort would be to ensure that every citizen of Hoshiarpur district has easy access to high-quality healthcare facilities.

She emphasized that only through teamwork and public cooperation can healthcare services be further strengthened. Dr. Garg added that with the joint efforts of officials and staff, the health system would be made more effective, ensuring that people receive the best possible services—from handling emergencies like floods to daily medical treatment.

Appealing to the public, Dr. Garg urged them to extend maximum cooperation in the health department’s campaigns so that Hoshiarpur district can set an example in healthcare services at the state level.
