Deputy Commissioner Reviews Preparations for Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th Martyrdom Day Procession

Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain reviewed preparations today with officials for the state-level procession dedicated to the 350th martyrdom day of the Ninth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. She emphasized that the event holds deep spiritual significance and should be conducted with dignity and discipline.
The Deputy Commissioner directed departments to ensure timely repair and cleanliness of the procession routes. The Public Works Department, municipal councils, and Panchayat Department will handle road repairs, drainage cleaning, street lighting, and sanitation. Police have been tasked with special traffic management arrangements.
The district administration, in collaboration with social and religious organizations, will arrange welcomes along the route, with langar services for devotees. The Health Department will station ambulances and medical teams along the route, while the Power Department will ensure uninterrupted electricity, and municipal bodies will provide clean drinking water and sanitation facilities.
A special procession will begin on November 21 from Pathankot, passing through Mukerian, Dasuya, Hoshiarpur, Mahilpur, and Garhshankar before culminating at Shri Anandpur Sahib.
Deputy Commissioner Jain urged all departments to work in close coordination to make the procession a memorable and smooth experience for the devotees.
