 Former MP Avinash Rai Khanna Plants Saplings at Rayat Bahra University on PM Modi’s 75th Birthday

 To mark the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Member of Parliament Avinash Rai Khanna led a plantation drive at Rayat Bahra Professional University. Various fruit-bearing and flowering saplings were planted on the campus, with active participation from students, including those from Jammu and Kashmir, who planted species such as neem, harad, kachnar, and amla.

The students pledged to take full responsibility for nurturing and protecting the plants, ensuring that their growth contributes to a cleaner and greener environment. Khanna appreciated their commitment, noting that they would balance their academic responsibilities with their dedication to environmental preservation.

During the event, Khanna also highlighted his efforts to support flood-affected villages by providing food, clothing, and other necessities to help victims of natural calamities. In addition, with the cooperation of local NGOs, blood donation camps are being organized across the region.

Addressing the recent tragic incident in Hoshiarpur, where a five-year-old child was abducted and murdered by a migrant, Khanna stressed the need for strict verification of all migrants entering Punjab before they are allowed to work, to ensure public safety.
