continues to actively pursue its humanitarian mission, positively impacting the lives of thousands of individuals through its various social and health initiatives. In line with its commitment to serve the public and recognizing the increasing demand for physiotherapy services due to modern sedentary lifestyles and related health issues, the Red Cross has launched a new Physiotherapy Centre at Dagana Road, Hoshiarpur.

The center commenced operations on May 07, 2025, and has received an encouraging response from the public. Within just two months, the center has already recorded over 100 OPDs, a testament to the growing trust and need for such a facility in the region.

The Physiotherapy Centre is staffed by a highly qualified and experienced professional, holding BPT and MPT (Orthopaedics) degrees, with prior experience at renowned multi-super-specialty hospitals including Max Hospital, Delhi, among others. This ensures that patients receive world-class treatment in a compassionate and professional environment.

Speaking about the initiative, Secretary, District Red Cross Society, stated that the Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur, has personally ensured that treatment remains affordable for all, with OPD consultation charges set at a nominal rate of ₹70. This has enabled individuals from all sections of society to access essential physiotherapy services without financial burden.

Several patients have already benefited from the services and shared their positive experiences:

Meena Rani of Subash Nagar Gali No. 4 said that she was suffering from Back pain & was not able to sit or stand properly, she visited private physiotherapy centre and took treatment for 1 week but there was not much improvement then she got to know about the Red Cross Physiotherapy centre from Newpaper & after getting treatment of 1 week now she has recovered well, movement is smooth and is able to perform daily activities with ease.

Harvinder Singh resident of Dagana road, Hoshiarpur was having neck pain with stiffness and early morning pain in the neck and not able to move. He said one of my friend informed me about Red Cross Centre. After taking treatment of 10 days my stiffness has reduced, pain improved and neck movement is also better now. Harvinder said that this centre has provided a ray of hope for patients like me and is also very cost effective compared to other pvt physiotherapy centres.

Another local resident Pushpinder singh was suffering from Knee pain with stiffness in the knees and he came to know about this centre from 1 of the advertisement board of this physiotherapy centre. Before undergoing treatment , he was not able to stand properly on this feet but after taking therapies for about 3-4 days he is finding considerable improvement in his problem. Pushpinder praised a lot about the Dr. Amandeep Kaur of Physiotherapy centre and said that she was very sensitive and sensible towards the patients and said that Rs 70 fee is very affordable for every citizen and has made this therapy centre facility accessible to all.  

The District Red Cross Society reaffirms its resolve to introduce more such people-centric initiatives in the future and urges the public to take full advantage of this affordable and high-quality health facility.
