Senior Journalist Daljeet Ajnoha Holds Insightful Interaction with SSP Sandip Kumar Malik on Hoshiarpur Police’s Successful Anti-Drug Campaign

In a significant interaction highlighting the commendable efforts of the police department in the ongoing fight against drugs, senior journalist Daljit Ajnoha met with Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sandip Kumar Malik to discuss the progress and future direction of the Nashean Virudh Muhim (Anti-Drug Campaign) in the Hoshiarpur district.
During the discussion, SSP Malik provided a comprehensive overview of the strategies and operations being implemented by the Hoshiarpur Police to curb the drug menace. He revealed that under the committed leadership of Dr. Mukesh Kumar, SP Hoshiarpur, and with the tireless efforts of his entire team, a massive quantity of narcotics has been seized in recent months. Numerous drug suppliers and peddlers have been apprehended, significantly disrupting the illegal drug network operating in the region.
SSP Malik emphasized that this campaign is part of a statewide initiative launched under the visionary leadership of DGP Punjab Mr. Gaurav Yadav. The campaign aims not just to arrest culprits, but also to dismantle the entire supply chain, rehabilitate addicts, and involve the community in preventive action.
He stated, “We are committed to making Hoshiarpur a drug-free district. The dedication of our officers, combined with public cooperation and media support, is yielding visible results.”
SSP Malik also appreciated the role of journalists in spreading awareness and supporting the campaign through responsible and impactful reporting. He thanked Mr. Daljit Ajnoha for his continued engagement and concern regarding the issue of drug abuse, which remains a top priority for law enforcement agencies across Punjab.
Mr. Ajnoha, during the meeting, praised the Hoshiarpur Police for their proactive measures and assured full media support to highlight positive developments and mobilize public opinion against drug abuse.
The meeting concluded with a mutual call for greater coordination between the police, media, NGOs, and the public to ensure that the youth of Punjab are steered away from drugs and towards a brighter, healthier future.
