95 percent paddy has been purchased in the state's markets: Lal Chand Kataruchak
Out of the 61 lakh metric tonnes of paddy that reached the markets, 60 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased so far.

Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Forest and Wildlife Minister Punjab Lal Chand Kataruchak reached Dasuya Dana Mandi today and took stock of paddy procurement and other arrangements. He said that 95 percent of the paddy has been purchased in the mandis of the state and the paddy purchased in the mandis is being paid directly into the accounts of the farmers within 24 hours. During this time, MLA Dasuya Karmaveer Singh Ghuman, SDM Pradeep Singh Bains and District Food and Supplies Controller Madam Madhu were also present with him.
The Cabinet Minister said that officials of the Food and Supplies Department and he himself is reaching the mandis in the entire state and taking stock of the procurement arrangements. He said that the paddy procurement season is going on smoothly in the mandis of the state.
The Cabinet Minister said that till now 61 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis of the state and 60 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from the mandis, apart from this, Rs 10,000 crore has been paid to the farmers. He said that concrete arrangements have been made to ensure lifting and payment of purchased paddy within 24 hours. He said that complete arrangements have been made to check the moisture of the crops coming for sale in the mandis. He appealed to the farmers of the state to bring the crops to the markets completely dry and to give priority to their proper management instead of burning the stubble. He said that no one will be allowed to face any difficulty during the entire procurement process. On this occasion, he also interacted with the farmers, commission agents and laborers present.
