On behalf of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal, a meeting was held today with representatives of various political parties of the district regarding special revision of voter lists. During this, she told that the Election Commission of India has issued a program for special revision of voter lists on the basis of eligibility date 1 January 2024. She informed that the primary publication of voter lists has started from today and claims and objections will be received till December 9, 2023. She informed that in this regard, special camps will be organized on 4th November 2023, 5th November 2023, 2nd December 2023 and 3rd December 2023, during which BLOs will sit at their respective polling stations from 9 am to 5 pm and vote for eligible persons. Will receive claims and objections from. She said that the claims and objections will be settled by December 26, 2023 and the final publication of voter lists will be done on January 5, 2024.

The District Election Officer said that persons who have turned 18 years of age or more on January 1, 2024, can submit application in Form No. 6 to get their names included in the voter list. She said that Form No. 7 for raising objection on the name included in the voter list or for getting the vote deducted, Form No. 8 for correcting any error already recorded in the voter list, correction in address, duplicate voter card, etc. should be given to the concerned booth level officer. The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the representatives of political parties to appoint their booth level agents and coordinate with the BLOs to cooperate in getting maximum votes.
