Rayat Bahra Professional University Organizes Special Awareness Seminar on Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention

The University School of Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology, Rayat Bahra Professional University organized a special awareness seminar on Breast and Cervical Cancer prevention on the occasion of World Cancer Day.
The seminar was conducted under the guidelines of Vice Chancellor Dr. Chander Mohan and under the leadership of Dr. Sukhmeet Kaur Bedi, Incharge of the Department. The event aimed to create awareness among students about cancer prevention, early detection, and healthy lifestyle practices.
Dr. Shweta Tahlan, Senior Gynaec Oncologist from Fortis Hospital, Mohali, was the keynote speaker at the seminar. Addressing the students, she highlighted the crucial role of the HPV vaccine in preventing cervical cancer. She also elaborated on the early symptoms of breast cancer, the importance of timely screening, and the need for increased awareness to reduce cancer-related risks.
Dr. Shweta Tahlan emphasized that timely vaccination, regular health check-ups, and correct information can significantly help in preventing serious diseases like cancer. She encouraged students to spread health awareness within society.
On this occasion, Dr. Sukhmeet Kaur Bedi thanked Dr. Shweta Tahlan for sharing valuable insights and stated that the information provided during the seminar was highly beneficial for students. She added that the university remains committed to promoting social and health awareness alongside academic excellence, and such seminars play an important role in building a healthier society.
