Action Against Illegal Mining in Garhshankar, Three Tippers Seized

The Mining Department conducted routine checks in the Garhshankar area between 10 and 11 pm, taking strict action against illegal mining. Three tippers transporting minerals without required documents were impounded and challaned.SDO Har kanwal Singh stated that a team led by JE-cum-Mining Officer Lovpreet Singh was checking tippers carrying minerals late last night. During the operation, tippers bearing registration numbers PB 10 JU 6387, PB 06 BD 9838, and PB 10 ZW 2821 were challaned and seized under Rules 74 and 75 of the Punjab Minor Mineral Rules (PMMR) Act, 2013.The three impounded tippers have been parked at the Garhshankar Truck Union, and the Garhshankar police station has been informed. SDO Harkanwal Singh added that such checking campaigns against illegal mining and unauthorized mineral transportation will continue in the future.
