In an exclusive conversation with senior journalist Sanjeev Kumar, ADGP MF Farooqi from PAP Complex Jalandhar declared the Punjab Police’s anti-drug campaign a decisive and historic battle, with the unwavering support of the people of Punjab making it a true public movement.

Farooqi stated that the fight against drugs is no longer limited to the efforts of the police force. “This has become a people’s war. From villages to cities, citizens are stepping forward, providing valuable information, and showing a collective commitment to uproot the drug menace from our society,” he said.

He emphasized that under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the strategic guidance of DGP Gaurav Yadav, the Punjab Police has intensified its operations across the state, aiming not just to arrest drug traffickers but to break the entire network and prevent youth from falling into the trap.

Highlighting the role of youth, Farooqi said, “Our young generation is our strength, and sports is the most powerful tool to keep them away from drugs. A playground is the best antidote to addiction.” He urged parents, schools, and communities to encourage sports and fitness activities as part of daily life.

He further appealed to the public to remain vigilant and continue cooperating with law enforcement, promising strict action against drug peddlers. “Every tip-off, every alert from the public counts. This is how we build a safer, healthier Punjab—together.”

ADGP Farooqi concluded with confidence, stating, “This mission is not just an operation; it’s a movement. With public support and strong leadership, Punjab will emerge victorious in this war against drugs.”
