Teej Festival Celebrated with Traditional Fervour at Rayat Bahra School
Students mesmerize with colourful performances; honoured with special titles

Rayat Bahra School (10+2 Wing) celebrated the vibrant and culturally significant Teej Festival with great enthusiasm and traditional fervour. The event aimed at fostering cultural awareness among students while providing a platform to showcase their creativity and boost their self-confidence.
The school campus came alive with festive decorations, and a special cultural assembly was organised to mark the occasion. Students dressed in traditional Punjabi attire enthralled the audience with an array of performances, including folk songs, speeches, Giddha dance, and Mehndi art. Their vibrant presentations infused the entire atmosphere with the colours and joy of the festival.
Adding to the celebration, participating students were felicitated with unique titles based on their performances and overall presentation. Jessica Chumber was crowned Miss Teej, Gurdeep was honoured as Sohni Sardani, Karleen Kaur as Sohni Mutiyar, Jaskaranpreet as Giddha Queen, and Hashmeet Harman as Proud Punjabi.
Navjot Kaur received the title of Desi Girl, while Akh Kashni and Harjot Virdi were jointly awarded Chand Vargi. Ekta was titled Roop Di Rani, and Alisha was named Proper Patola.
Speaking on the occasion, School Principal Mrs. Prem Lata Rana appreciated the efforts and talents of the students. She remarked, "Such celebrations serve as a meaningful bridge connecting students with their cultural roots and nurturing their creative skills." She encouraged students to continue participating actively in cultural events and to take pride in India’s rich traditions.
