Athletes to Get All Facilities in Model Stadiums – Dr. Chabbewal

MLA from Chabbewal constituency, Dr. Ishank Kumar Chabbewal, announced that modern sports stadiums will soon be constructed in 29 villages of the constituency at a cost of over ₹9 crore. The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has already released the funds for the project. Residents of the constituency have expressed their gratitude to CM Bhagwant Mann and Member of Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal for their efforts.

Dr. Ishank Chabbewal stated that MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal has been consistently working to bring major development projects to the area, resulting in rapid progress across the constituency.

He added that the new stadiums will be model stadiums equipped with all necessary facilities for athletes. Each stadium will be fenced, and solar lights will be installed to allow players to practice even during the night.

Dr. Chabbewal mentioned that CM Bhagwant Mann has announced the construction of modern stadiums across Punjab, and in the first phase, 3,083 such stadiums are set to be built. The objective of this initiative is to promote a sports culture in the state and steer the youth away from drug addiction.

He added that the drug supply chain has been broken and most addicts are now seeking treatment and rehabilitation. The aim of this campaign is to pull Punjab’s youth out of the clutches of drugs and make them active participants in the state's socio-economic development.

Dr. Ishank Chabbewal also stated that the Punjab government has devised a comprehensive plan to engage the youth in sports and keep them away from substance abuse. He shared that talented athletes who have represented India at the international level will be appointed as coaches in these stadiums.

He further said that Punjab is the first state in the country to provide financial support to athletes for their preparation even before they participate in international competitions.
