 Khelo India Wushu Women League Held in Jalandhar

Over 480 girls from 18 districts of Punjab participated in the event

The Khelo India Wushu Women Ashmita League (State Level) 2025–2026 was successfully organized by the Wushu Association of Punjab on July 12–13, 2025 at Banarsi Dass Arya College, Jalandhar Cantt.

The event witnessed the participation of teams from 18 districts of Punjab, with over 480 girls competing in various Wushu categories.

The league was inaugurated on July 12 by Chief Guest Colonel Anirban Gupta, who encouraged the participants and praised their courage and determination. He stated that in today’s world, girls are no less than boys and are proving themselves in every field, including sports.

Rajvinder Kaur, President of the Wushu Association of Punjab, and S. Surinder Singh Sodhi (Retired IPS) were also present at the event to motivate and bless the athletes.

Rajeev Walia, Chairman of the Youth Sports Welfare Board, also inspired the players by emphasizing that sports are not only a source of entertainment but also essential for physical and mental well-being. He urged the youth to actively participate in sports and consider it as a viable career option.

Gurpreet Singh Sindhu, General Secretary of the Wushu Association of Punjab, appealed to all parents to encourage their children — both boys and girls — to get involved in sports and physical activities.

Other notable attendees at the event included Santokh Singh Dubey, Palwinder Singh, Pradeep Sharma, Iqbal Singh, Paramjit Singh, and Prince, who also extended their support to the event and the young athletes.
