Discipline and Distance from Social Media Key to His Success

Tanish Gupta from Hoshiarpur has made the district proud by securing All India Rank 964 in the JEE Advanced 2025 examination. His remarkable achievement has brought joy to the Gupta family, with relatives and well-wishers pouring in their congratulations.

Tanish credits his success to unwavering discipline, hard work, and a complete break from social media. After completing his coaching in Delhi, he distanced himself from smartphones, social media, and television—dedicating 10–12 hours daily to focused study.

He shared that he had aspired to become an engineer from a young age and had set his goal early. Now, he aims to study at a prestigious IIT and work in future-oriented fields like space tourism to contribute to India’s growth in the technology sector.

Tanish expressed deep gratitude to his parents for their constant support. His father, Navin Gupta, is a computer science engineer, and his mother, Monika Gupta, is also an engineer currently working at a private school. Tanish said it was his father who inspired him to pursue engineering.

He advised JEE aspirants to stay focused, consistently revise their school syllabus, and regularly practice previous years’ papers and mock tests to strengthen their preparation..

JEE Advanced is widely regarded as India’s toughest and the world’s second-most difficult examination. This year, over 15 lakh students appeared for JEE Main, of whom only 2.5 lakh qualified for JEE Advanced. The exam was held on May 18, with 1,80,422 students appearing and only 54,378 qualifying.

Tanish’s rank of 964 is a moment of pride not just for his family, but for the entire district. His father said that with proper guidance and dedicated effort, no goal is out of reach.
