 - The arrival of paddy in Hoshiarpur district has crossed 3 lakh metric tons= Komal Mittal

The arrival of paddy in various procurement centers of Hoshiarpur district has crossed 3 lakh metric tons. Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that till last evening, 300550 metric tons of paddy has arrived in the markets of the district, out of which 298554 metric tons of paddy has been purchased. She said that out of the paddy purchased so far, 120880 metric tons from Pangrain, 76652 metric tons from Markfed, 53273 metric tons from Pansap, 39299 metric tons from Punjab State Warehouse Corporation, 5909 metric tons from FCI and 2541 metric tons from traders. Tons of paddy have been purchased. She said that so far the farmers have been paid Rs 593.98 crore.

The Deputy Commissioner said that 70 procurement centers have been set up in the district, in which all necessary arrangements have been made for the convenience of farmers. She said that the procurement process is reviewed daily to ensure simultaneous purchase and payment of farmers' crops. She said that during the entire procurement process no one will be allowed to face any problem.

   

She appealed to the farmers of the district to bring their crops to the markets after drying them completely to avoid drought. He asked the farmers not to harvest paddy with combines at night, as this increases the moisture content of the crop, due to which the procurement agencies are unable to purchase the crop with high moisture content. She also appealed that harvesting should not be done with combines without super straw management system. She said that after harvesting the stubble and crop residues should be properly managed by not setting them on fire. She said that prohibition orders have already been issued in this regard in the district.
