Ex-Servicemen Honour Ceremony Held in Jalandhar; 350 Veterans and 16 Martyrs’ Families Felicitated — Surinder Aggarwal

On the occasion of Vijay Diwas 2025, the Akhil Bhartiya Agrawal Sammelan, Punjab State, organized a historic and memorable Ex-Servicemen Honour Ceremony at the Red Cross Bhawan, Jalandhar. The event was dedicated to the indomitable courage, patriotism, sacrifice, and valour of the brave soldiers of Punjab. A total of 350 ex-servicemen and 16 families of martyrs from Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Nawanshahr, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, and other districts were specially honoured.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests including Punjab Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat, LPU Chairman Ramesh Mittal, Vice Chairman Naresh Mittal, Jalandhar Mayor Vaneet Dhir, and AAP Jalandhar Constituency Incharge Nitin Kohli. The program was presided over by State President Surinder Aggarwal.
Addressing the gathering, Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat said that the soldiers of Punjab are the backbone of national security. Their dedication and bravery ensure the safety of India's borders in every adverse condition.
State President Surinder Aggarwal described Vijay Diwas as the eternal saga of Indian heroes. He said that soldiers and martyrs’ families are the nation’s greatest treasure. He reaffirmed the organization's commitment to hosting such programs every year to make the culture of soldier respect a widely accepted social value.
LPU Chairman Ramesh Mittal called soldiers the greatest inspiration for nation-building, while Mayor Vaneet Dhir stated that honouring martyrs’ families is both a duty and a matter of pride for society.
On this occasion, the Jalandhar Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association also honoured State President Surinder Aggarwal for his contribution to promoting patriotism and social service. LPU Director Girish Bhatt and Parvjyot Kaur presented patriotic performances, while patriotic presentations by school children under the guidance of Patiala Director Som Sohota left the audience emotional.
The event was successfully coordinated with the dedicated support of State Chairman Manmohan Mittal, General Secretary Ashok Aggarwal, Senior Vice President Harish Goyal, Spokesperson Dhaniram Gupta, Women’s Wing President Simran Aggarwal, and all other office-bearers and members of the organization.
The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, followed by a vote of thanks extended by Manmohan Mittal, Ashok Aggarwal, and Harish Goyal to all veterans, martyrs’ families, and esteemed guests.
