District and Sessions Judge Rajinder Aggarwal Visits De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Center
Awareness provided on drug de-addiction and legal rights under “Youth Against Drugs” campaign preparations

District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Rajinder Aggarwal, along with CJM-cum-Secretary of DLSA, Neeraj Goyal, visited the De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Center in Hoshiarpur.During the visit, they interacted with the admitted patients and informed them that, as per the instructions of the Member Secretary of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar (Mohali), an anti-drug awareness campaign titled “Youth Against Drugs” will be conducted from December 6 to January 6. The primary objective of this campaign is to inspire the younger generation to give up drug consumption and move towards a bright future, while creating a drug-free society. Citizens' cooperation is expected in this noble effort to help the youth of the country reach new heights in life.On the occasion, Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel Vishal Kumar provided detailed information to the patients about NALSA’s “Drugs Awareness and Wellness Navigation: A Plan for a Drug-Free India-2025.” He explained the harmful effects of drugs on health, family, and social life, as well as the legal provisions under the NDPS Act (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act). He also informed about the National Lok Adalat scheduled for December 13, 2025, where pending and pre-litigation cases are resolved through mutual consent of both parties. Decisions in Lok Adalat are final and not subject to appeal, thus saving both time and money.Present during the visit were Medical Officer Dr. Jasleen Kaur, Psychiatrist Dr. Simran Saini, Counselors Prashant, Paraminder Kaur, Rajvinder Kaur, and Manager Nisha Rani.
