In a significant move to strengthen infrastructure in Chabbewal Assembly constituency, MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar inaugurated a newly constructed road stretching from Bassi Kalan to Bathula. This vital road links the Hoshiarpur-Garhshankar highway to Bassi Jamal Khan via Bichohi, substantially improving connectivity across the region.The road extends over 5.25 kilometers, including a 700-meter stretch previously prone to damage, which has now been reconstructed with durable concrete. Built at an estimated cost of Rs 2 crore, the road’s width has been increased from 10 feet to 14 feet, ensuring enhanced safety and smoother traffic movement.Addressing a longstanding demand from local residents, this road has been developed in accordance with modern standards. During the inauguration ceremony, villagers expressed their gratitude toward Dr. Ishank Kumar and commended his relentless efforts to expedite development works in the area.Dr. Ishank Kumar emphasized that improving basic amenities within the Chabbewal constituency remains his foremost priority. He remarked that roads form the backbone of a region’s economic and social advancement. The new road is expected to benefit not only the residents of Bassi Kalan, Bathula, Bassi Jamal Khan, and Bichohi, but it will also facilitate easier transit to neighboring areas. To prioritize convenience and safety, the road’s width was expanded, with plans to implement further enhancements as necessary.He elaborated that, in collaboration with the Punjab government, ongoing initiatives are focused on upgrading water supply, road infrastructure, street lighting, education, and healthcare facilities in the Chabbewal area. Several new development projects are anticipated to receive approval in the upcoming months, aiming at holistic growth of the constituency. Dr. Ishank assured that no developmental work will remain incomplete and that every village will be linked with modern amenities.The launch of the new road has instilled a sense of relief and optimism among residents, who believe that access to schools, hospitals, markets, and other essential services will become quicker and more convenient.
