Punjab Police Special Director General of Police (DGP) Dr. Naresh Arora visited Mahilpur on a personal tour, where he was warmly welcomed by prominent social figures in a simple yet dignified event held at Fagwara Road, Mahilpur. The welcome ceremony was attended by notable personalities, including Gurnam Singh Bais, Rajinder Singh, Bahadur Khan, Advocate Ashwani Verma (Court Complex, Hoshiarpur), Advocate Raj Davinder Singh (Mahilpur), Kulvinder Singh Heera (Box Factory), Numberdar Sahib Singh, and Gurinder Preet Singh. At the event, Dr. Arora was also presented with a book titled Guru Mahima, authored by Daljeet Ajnoha.Addressing the gathering, Dr. Arora emphasized the commendable efforts of Punjab Police under the state government’s anti-drug campaign. He shared that police operations against drug trafficking across Punjab have been effective, aided significantly by local community cooperation. Those found trapped in addiction are enrolled in rehabilitation centers with family support. After treatment, they are provided employment opportunities to prevent relapse into harmful habits and to help rebuild their lives.Dr. Arora also reiterated Punjab Police’s firm stance on maintaining peace and order, stressing that there would be no leniency under any circumstances. He urged the youth to steer clear of drugs and focus on sports and education to grow into healthy and strong contributors to society.The Special DGP elaborated on the ongoing anti-drug initiatives and police actions, highlighting the collaborative efforts of the Punjab Police and government to create a drug-free Punjab. Their joint mission aims at nurturing a healthy and prepared youth for a promising future.
