 In the inter-district under-23 cricket competition being organized by Punjab Cricket Association, Hoshiarpur team achieved a splendid victory by defeating District Fatehgarh Sahib team by an inning and 66 runs, thanks to the batting of Rachit Soni, Haral Vashisht, Aniket Rana, Manveer Heer and the excellent bowling of Upalaksha Rathore, Aryan Arora and Amritpal Singh. Giving information in this regard, HDCA Secretary Dr. Raman Ghai said that Hoshiarpur team won the toss and batted first and scored 310 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 74.2 overs and declared the innings over and invited Fatehgarh Sahib to bat. Batting brilliantly for Hoshiarpur, Captain Rachit Soni scored 76 runs, Vice Captain Haral Vashisht scored 57 runs, Aniket Rana scored 56 runs, Manveer Heer scored 34 runs and Upalaksha Rathore and Aryan Arora remained unbeaten at 20 and 15 runs respectively, thus strengthening the Hoshiarpur team. Bowling for Fatehgarh Sahib, Saksham Katyal dismissed 4 players and Harshdeep Singh Pandher dismissed 2 players. Coming to bat in its first innings, the team of District Fatehgarh Sahib completely collapsed in front of the bowling of Haral Vashisht and Upalaksha Rathore. The Fatehgarh Sahib team could score only 98 runs in 26.5 overs. In which Haral Vashisht took 5 wickets, Upalaksha Rathore took 4 wickets and Amritpal Singh dismissed 1 player. After falling behind by 212 runs, playing on follow-on in the second innings, Fatehgarh Sahib team once again could score only 146 runs in 30.4 overs. Saksham Singla contributed 48 runs and Manpreet Dhiman 21 runs. Hoshiarpur once again bowled brilliantly, Upalaksha Rathore took 5 wickets, Haral Vashisht took 3 wickets, Aryan Arora and Abhay Pathania dismissed 1 player each.
