Young voters appointed Youth Election Ambassadors, given special training on the election process.

Under the leadership of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, a program has been started in Hoshiarpur given the Lok Sabha elections, which is the first of its kind. Hoshiarpur District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, in a unique effort, launched the Youth Election Ambassador Program in the district as part of the SVEEP activity to connect young voters with voting and to make them aware of the election process before and after voting.  Under this program, along with the District Election Officer-cum-Returning Officer and all the Assistant Returning Officers of the district, two youth voters, one male and one female, from the respective area has been added as Youth Election Ambassador. These young voters were appointed as Youth Election Ambassadors and given complete training regarding the election process today. 

They were told in detail about the election process and pre-voting preparations starting from the date of the declaration of elections. During this time, they also visited the model polling booth set up in Government Girls Senior Secondary Smart School, Railway Mandi. Along with this, they were given hands-on practices on the voting process, polling booths, and voting on EVMs and were made aware of the functioning of VVPAT and EVMs.


        Youth Election Ambassadors got information about the polling officers deployed at the polling booth and their functions and understood the complete voting process at the polling booth. After this, information was also given about the sealing process of the EVMs and VVPAT machines after the voting was over and keeping them safe till the day of counting.


        The Deputy Commissioner said that these ambassadors will make young voters aware of voting in their respective assembly constituencies. He said that the objective of this program is to make the young voters aware of the voting process and introduce them to the election process so that they can understand why we are celebrating elections as a festival of democracy. During this, District Nodal Officer of Training Management, Dr. Kiranjeet trained the Youth Election Ambassadors through Power Point Presentation (PPT). On this occasion, Additional District Election Officer and ARO Chabbewal Rahul Chaba, Commissioner Municipal Corporation-cum-ARO Sham Chaurasi Dr. Amandeep Kaur, SDM-cum-ARO Hoshiarpur Preetinder Singh Bains, SDM-cum-ARO Urmur Vyom Bhardwaj, SDM-cum-ARO Dasuya Pradeep Singh Bains, SDM-cum-ARO Mukerian Ashok Kumar, Election Tehsildar Sarbjit Singh, District Sweep Nodal Officer Preet Kohli, Assistant Nodal Officer Ankur Sharma, Sweep Nodal Officers of all the assembly constituencies of the district were also present.
