Children's magazines strengthen the foundation of childhood. These views were expressed by Ravi Chanakya, National President of Mission New India, while addressing a seminar organized by Sahitya Sadan Hoshiarpur on the importance of children's literature. He further stated that children's literature plays a vital role in grooming and nurturing childhood. These magazines develop the intellect and physique of students in an entertaining manner. In the New Education Policy, special emphasis has been laid on adopting children's literature in vernacular languages. Therefore, it is the responsibility of all of us to ensure that we put magazines of our respective mother tongues into the hands of children. When children connect with children's literature through their mother tongue, they eventually become accustomed to magazines in other languages as well. Hence, every parent and teacher should provide children's magazines to children. He specially praised 'Nikkian Karumblan', the only Punjabi magazine listed in the India Book of Records, being published from Mahilpur, District Hoshiarpur, stating that it is the only popular Punjabi magazine for children, teachers, and parents that has been published continuously for the last three decades. Commending Baljinder Maan and the organizers for this wonderful endeavour toward child welfare, he said that only selfless and patriotic people can perform such tasks. Members of the presiding panel, including Dr. Ashok Puri, Dr. Daljit Singh Ajnoha, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Punj, Nirmal Dost, and Advocate Ashwani Verma, said in their address that children who read children's literature books and magazines achieve great success in life. As oxygen is vital in our lives, similarly children's literature is an essential part of childhood, which we have become indifferent toward. Through children's literature, we can develop human values and produce ideal citizens. On this occasion, Baljinder Maan thanked everyone and said that publishing children's literature is not a business-oriented task. Those who love their motherland, mother, and mother tongue are dedicated to making the foundation of children strong. Ramesh Kumar, M.S. Heera, Chaudhary Amrit Lal, Ashwani Kumar, Chainchal Singh Bains, Sukhman Singh, Amrit Pal Singh, Manjinder Heer, Sukhwinder Kumar, Harveer Maan, and other literature lovers were present on this occasion.
