 ADGP Shive Kumar Verma Supervises Operation Prahar-2 in Hoshiarpur

Shive Kumar Verma, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), visited Hoshiarpur to personally supervise the ongoing Operation Prahar-2, a major crackdown against criminals and drug networks.

During an interaction with Senior journalist Daljeet Ajnoha, the ADGP shared important updates about the large-scale operation. He stated that the drive has been running continuously for the past 72 hours. So far, police have identified around 1,250 criminals, out of which 125 accused have been arrested. Additionally, over 400 raids have been conducted across different locations.

To ensure effective action, nearly 600 police personnel have been deployed in the operation. 60 special teams have been assigned for naka duties and checking at bus stands and other sensitive points.

Speaking about the anti-drug campaign, the ADGP said that under the state’s intensified war against drugs, several drug traffickers have been arrested and properties linked to drug trade have been identified and targeted as per legal provisions.

He appealed to the public to share information through the police helpline without fear or hesitation. “Punjab Police stands with the people. Public cooperation is essential to win this battle against crime and drugs,” he said. He also emphasized that media support plays an important role in spreading awareness and strengthening the mission.

Operation Prahar-2 continues with full intensity as Punjab Police tightens its grip on criminal and drug networks in the district.
